Turning a PDF page into an image is useful for thumbnails, slides, social posts, or embedding a page in a system that refuses PDFs. The quality question is entirely about render scale: 1x matches screen resolution, 2x is a good default for printing and for text that must stay readable when zoomed.

Because rendering happens locally with the browser's own PDF engine, a 40-page document does not need to be sent anywhere and then downloaded again. You get the images faster and nothing is stored on a server.

Frequently asked questions

What resolution are the JPGs?
The scale multiplies the PDF page size in points. A 2x render of an A4 page is roughly 1190 by 1684 pixels.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
No. The file must be decrypted first, since the browser engine cannot open encrypted documents.
Why is the background white instead of transparent?
JPG has no transparency channel. Use a PNG output tool if you need a transparent background.
How large will the ZIP be?
Expect a few hundred kilobytes per page at 1x and one to two megabytes at 2x, depending on the amount of imagery on the page.
Are my files uploaded to render them?
No. Rendering runs in a web worker on your machine. Nothing is transmitted.
